Hibret Bank has been awarded the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certificate from the Professional Evaluation and Certification Board (PECB MS). The certificate is given to companies that are found to meet high standards of information security systems management.

PECB MS, the accrediting body behind the certificate, awards the certificate for upto three years. Certification takes into account everything from legal, administrative, technical, and human resource operations.

According to Hibret Bank’s ICT Infrastructure Director Ousman Seid, the Bank was recognised for its online banking, data centre, and disaster recovery facility information security management. The award is one of the most prestigious that a company can receive.

Hibret Bank is the first bank in Ethiopia to receive the certificate. This makes the bank’s online services one of the most trustworthy in the country for customers.

Additionally, in terms of engaging in public endeavours, the bank’s services ensure that national security is protected at the highest level.

Enhancing this achievement is the fact that Hibret Bank implemented the latest version of its core banking system and online banking platform in-house.
