Ethiopia’s budget for 2014 fiscal year

The budget that was approved for the upcoming fiscal year (which starts tomorrow) provides ETB 345.7 billion to the federal government. Of this amount, ETB 162.1 billion will go to recurrent expenses while ETB 183.5 billion will go to capital expense.

Regional governments will receive ETB 203.9 billion. ETB 195.2 billion will be sourced domestically while ETB 7.2 billion will be sourced from foreign loans and ETB 1.4 billion from foreign assistance.

Per region; 

- Tigray ETB 12 billion

- Afar ETB 6 billion

- Amhara ETB 43.3 billion

- Oromia ETB 69.1 billion

- Somalia ETB 20 billion

- Benshangul/Gumuz ETB 3.6 billion

- SNNP ETB 32.2 billion

- Gambela ETB 2.6 billion

- Sidama ETB 8 billion

- Harari ETB 1.5 billion

- Addis Ababa City Government ETB 3.3 billion, and 

- Dire Dawa City Administration ETB 1.7 billion. 

An additional ETB 12 billion is going to go toward the support of sustainable development goals.
