Ethiopia held virtual business forums with Ukraine and South Korea on trade relations regarding export from Ethiopia to Ukraine and increased ties and development investment with Ukraine. Thirteen Ukrainian companies engaged in agriculture, agricultural development, medicine, transport, and logistics also showcased their products and services at the forum.
Similarly, thirty-three South Korean companies were in attendance at the virtual forum held with Ethiopia. South Korea recently signed an agreement to provide 32 million USD to Ethiopia to support the country’s ten year development plan.
In related news, the Ethiopian Planning and Development Commission recently announced that it will be distributing the 10 Year Development Plan to citizens.
According to the Ethiopian Ambassador to Germany and Ukraine, Mulu Solomon, Ethiopia is currently going strong in enhancing its capabilities to export coffee, flower, seed, oil, and leather products to Ukraine.
The business forum marks the recent rise in trade relations between the two countries. At the beginning of this year (2021), the two countries signed an agreement that allows Ukraining farmers to export eggs to Ethiopia at a massive scale.
The forum is an extension of that and other trade relations, with more than 27 representatives from Ukrainian companies in attendance.
