Fibela Industrial Complex, which houses Ethiopia’s largest oil manufacturing factory, has received a shipment of 160 Trakker trucks from IVECO. Fibela is expected to produce 1.6 million litres of oil per day along with various other related products like specialty fats and oleochemicals in general.

According to IVECO the vehicles meet the standard required by the factory due to the terrain and non stop operation that the vehicles would be subjected to. The main route that the trucks would be taking will be between Djibouti (Djibouti) and Bure (Amhara, Gojjam).

Ethiopia spends nearly 600 million USD on the import of oils which accounts for 25 percent of its total foreign trade cost. Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore are the biggest exporters that profit from Ethiopia’s market. Now, however, Fibela Industrial Complex is projected to cover more than 60 percent of Ethiopia’s annual oil needs thereby easing the pressure that particular market exerts on its foreign currency reserves.

Fabio De Serafini, IVECO Africa, and Middle East Director, said that the strong collaboration with the Belayneh Kinda Group, the company that set up Fibela Industrial, is a testament to IVECO’s commitment to providing the best transportation resources and solutions in both quality and quantity.
