Renowned Turkish electronic and home goods supplier KUMTEL has launched a coffee shop in the heart of Istanbul. The coffee shop features a blend of the two unique coffee cultures of Ethiopia and Turkey.

KUMTEL is an electronic home goods supplier that has been in the Turkish market since 1972. The company also manufactures electronic household goods in the town of Sebeta in Ethiopia.

The new coffee shop, located Karakoy, which is at the heart of Turkey’s bustling capital, is called ‘Addis Ababa Coffee’. The shop also has its own packaging facility that is going to be used to process and package the variety of coffee beans that KUMTEL imports from Ethiopia.

The General Manager of Addis Ababa Coffee, Mustafa Faruk Yilmaz, met with the Ethiopian Consul General to Turkey Wondimu Gezahegn and other official from the consulate. They discussed ways in which cooperation can be facilitated for the promotion of Ethiopian coffee.

In time, KUMTEL plans on opening more than 100 coffee shops across Turkey and gradually becoming one of the biggest importers of Ethiopian coffee.
