Queen’s Supermarket, a member of MIDROC Technology Group, has announced that it has launched its ninth store in the city of Addis Ababa. The new store is located on the ground floor of Nani Building, next to Ghion Hotel and started operations on Monday, November 23rd.
The opening ceremony was held on November 21st in the presence of Addis Ababa Deputy Mayor Adanech Abebe.
Queen’s is one of the main wholesale and retail traders in the city specializing in consumer products. It was established in 2010 and started out by trading agro-industrial, agricultural, seafood, personal care, canned, and other similar products.
MIDROC Technology Group founder Mohammed Al-Amoudi initially invested more than 59 million ETB for the first supermarket. The 8th branch of the supermarket was launched in August of 2019 in Keranio Plaza.
At the time of the launch of the 8th branch, Queen’s had a capital of 23.8 million ETB and operated with 142 employees. The chain had an annual sales revenue of 157 million ETB, which has increased dramatically from that of its first year, which was 12.2 million ETB.
