The Ethiopian Ministry of Finance has signed an agreement with the Ethiopian Construction Design and Supervision Works Corporation to acquire electro-mechanical equipment for the implementation of “super cluster servers”.
The servers are going to be used to facilitate Integrated Financial Management Information Systems (IFMIS) that will allow the ministry to internally and externally integrate its operations.
The agreement between the two governmental organisations is worth ETB 26 million. Provision of the materials required by the Ministry of Finance is expected to be complete within the next three months.
After implementing the IFMIS at the Ministry of Finance and working out operations kinks, the system is going to be rolled out across 60 other governmental organisations.
This is going to be done throughout the current budget year, with priority organisations (those with higher budgets) implementing the system first.
